When DH and I got engaged, he was working in jewelry, so he knew his stuff. :-) He got me just what I wanted–a single diamond. But I really like the ring in the pic too! I’ve nver heard of a white saphire before.
Because we knew we were eventually going to get married my husband and I always went into jewelry shops and looked around. He surprised me with a gorgeous ring when he did propose but when he told the jeweler my size she didn’t believe him (I’m a 9) and said I’d have to be a giant to be that size. So I had to wait for my ring to be re-sized even though he knew it :( I absolutely LOVE the ring though.

How fun! When my husband and I wear at that stage, I remember we would casually talk about marriage. Not really to each other, just our expectations and what not. Rings came up a few times. We would see other couples and their rings and it would get us talking about the different styles and such. It was really easy for us each to learn what each other liked so we were able to pick out rings for each other and have it a surprise and the other still love it.

Those are great tips. I never received a ring, my husband and I worked together and he asked me while we were working on a project like it was no big deal, lol. It worked for us and the way we are though.
