According to the the Consumer Product Safety Commission, on Tuesday January 8th, Fisher-Price Inc. informed the buyers of 800,000 infant recliner seats that they need to stop using the seats immediately if they find mold growing on the recliners.
It has been reported that Fisher-Price has received around 600 reports of mold on the Rock n Play Infant Sleepers. Additionally, 16 consumers have reported that their infants were treated for respiratory issues and hives after using the sleeper.
Buyers are being advised to inspect under the seat cushion for mold since it can develop between the removable seat cushion and the plastic frame of the recliner if it becomes wet or not cleaned enough.
If you find mold on your sleeper, please call Fisher Price for cleaning instructions or further help with the issue. You can visit service.mattel.com or call 800-432-5437 anytime between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday.
