Yesterday Marvel fans FINALLY received their first look at Brie Larson as the butt kicking female superhero… CAPTAIN MARVEL! Carol Danvers’ hero ego was hinted at in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, but now we finally get to see what she looks like thanks to Entertainment Weekly! Take a look!
For those unfamiliar with the story, Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel, is a U.S. Air Force pilot whose DNA is fused with that of an alien during an accident, which gives her with the powers of superhuman strength, energy projection, and flight. She goes on to become one of the universe’s most powerful heroes! In all due time though, Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.
Samuel L. Jackson returns as Nick Fury, only this time, you’ll see him before he wears his famous eye patch. The film will take place in the 1990s, when Fury was still just an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Jude Law portrays Walter Lawson / Mar-Vell, the commander of the Starforce. He happens to also be Captain Mavel’s mentor!
Lee Pace and Djimon Hounsou return as Ronan the Accuser and Korath the Pursuer (as seen in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY).
Another familiar face in the film is Clark Gregg, as fan favorite Phil Coulson. The film also stars Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, and McKenna Grace, and Lashana Lynch, who stars as Maria Rambeau, one of Carol’s oldest friends. She’s a top-notch Air Force pilot with the call sign “Photon,” and she’s also a single mother to a young daughter.

An all-star collective of accomplished writers penned the screenplay, including Meg LeFauve (INSIDE OUT, THE GOOD DINOSAUR), Nicole Perlman (GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY), Geneva Robertson-Dworet TOM RAIDER), Liz Flahive & Carly Mensch (GLOW), and Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck.
