Back in early May, I took the little man to get his first haircut! I had been putting this off for awhile because I just loved his curls. However, the hair was clearly getting in his eyes and what was once cute curls, were slowly starting to morph into a “lacrosse mullet” straight out of 1995.
I had come home from work one evening and just knew it was time. I brushed his hair out and when I realized he looked just like Harry Dunne (Jeff Daniels’ character) from Dumb and Dumber, it made a much more convincing argument for me to back up then and there and race off to the barber shop!
We headed to local children’s hair cut shop, appropriately named Pigtails and Crewcuts. So happy they took walk-ins. We barely waited a minute before they called his name. Between the red airplane, and police vehicle, of course he opted to ride in the blue car. He is in such a cars and truck phase right now!
Not too sure what is going on and why he needs to sit still.
The trick is food! Animal Crackers = Happy Baby = Baby Sits Still
SUCCESS! From baby with floppy hair to handsome little man! Wow they grow so fast. It is safe to say the little man survived his first hair cut :)
How was your little one’s first hair cut experience? Did they cry? Did it not phase them? Tips for getting a little one to sit still?
Sawyer hasn’t had his haircut yet, but it’s getting long. He may be getting one this week before we head out to NC for Reviewer’s Retreat!
How sweet! He looks like a little man now. I love hair salons that make it fun for kids!
My little man had his first haircut a few weeks ago but I just did it myself. His curls were turning into an out of control afro so it had to be done! I was so nervous but he was still adorable as ever! Looks like your little guy did a great job getting his hair cut!
Oh, I remember those first haircuts..
My oldest looked like Lucy from Peanuts on his 1st birthday.
I wish we had a salon with the cool car chairs..
He looks so grown up now!!! Such a cutie!!!
