As a busy mom who works outside of the home, one thing I feel I’m definitely limited on is TIME! Trust me, I’d much rather be spending time with my son or enjoying my favorite TV show than taking out the trash, doing laundry, or scrubbing dishes. Luckily my son is at the age where I can start teaching him responsibility to get him geared up for when I need him to actually help with chores around the house.
Since I can trust Finish dishwasher detergent to actually FINISH the job, I decided that having my son help “clean” the dishes with me was the perfect chore for him to add to his chore chart. All he had to do was add a Finish Gel Pac to the dishwasher, close it up, and push the cycle button!
Finish just doesn’t provide me with savings to my wallet though… their also saves me TIME! I like to make sure my dishes are sparkly clean when they come out of the dishwasher. So I admit, I used to be one of those people that would scrub their dish clean BEFORE placing it in the dishwasher. Nothing drove me crazy like pulling unclean dishes with specks of food still on them out of the dishwasher. Then I’d have to go back and scrub scrub scrub again.
Since I can always rely on Walmart to offer great Rollback prices, we headed to our local Super Center to pick up some Finish.
I told my little guy we needed dish soap and luckily he spotted it quickly! I don’t know about your Walmart, but you have to find the Sponges & Brushes aisle to find the dish detergent.
One of my favorite Finish products to use is their Gel Pacs. I love the orange scent ones! They are great for softening the toughest food residue for easy removal when I throw them in the dish washer. Plus you have to love the JET-DRY ® rinse agent that helps eliminate all those yucky food spots! Walmart is offering Rollback prices through October.
Once we were home I explained to my little guy how he was going to start helping momma with cleaning the dishes. He was excited to help, but was quite curious about the Gel Pacs! 
After dinner one night I decided to start having him assist me. I loaded up the dishwasher of course with his “supervision.” He was so excited to help out! I think he was mostly excited to add a task to earn more smiley faces.

Such a big helper! I cannot stress enough how giving your children easy jobs at a young age can build their sense of responsibility. The best part? My son actually loves helping out! He sees it as a fun game and loves earning rewards. Teaching him to help out at this age will definitely become beneficial when he is older and can truly help out around the house.

My son loves America, so I created a fun reward chart for him to track his chores on. We hang it right on our kitchen refrigerator. When I ask him to do a task and he happily complies, he’ll get a smiley face for that day! If I ask him and he throws a fit about it, he gets a sad face for that day. Depending on whether he has more happy faces or sad faces that week depends on what size reward he’ll receive (if he receives on at all!).

We use the Finish UltraPacks in our home, they get the dishes truly sparkling. I also love how the younger ones actually get a kick out of doing the dishes this way!

I love Finish products, but haven’t tried the orange scent yet. My kids love to help me with chores, but for some reason don’t want to do their own. It’s like they’ll only do it when it’s a team effort.
