Earlier this week we shared with you our latest FINDING DORY inspired recipe! My son had a blast helping me (and then eating) the Mini Jello Aquariums inspired by the latest Disney Pixar film. However that was the only Dory treat we made last weekend. While at the grocery store, I picked up a box of Kellogg’s Finding Dory Cereal complete with marshmallow images of Dory and Nemo. My son was so excited! While we enjoyed some of it for breakfast, the cereal was also perfect to create a delicious snack. Keep reading to check out our easy tutorial to make Finding Dory Cereal Snack Mix.
4 cups of Kellogg’s FINDING DORY cereal
2 cups of popped popcorn
1 cup of mini pretzel sticks
1 cup of peanuts
1 cup of creamy white frosting
1/2 cup of white chocolate chips
Blue sugar sprinkles
1 cup of gummy fish (Swedish fish)
First take a baking sheet and line it with foil, wax, or parchment paper. Then in a large mixing bowl, combine your cereal, popcorn, pretzels, and peanuts. Mix them all together!
Now in another bowl, combine the frosting and white chocolate chips. Microwave for 30 seconds, and then stir. Do this again, and then one more time, so that the ingredients were heated for a total of 90 seconds. The mixture should be smooth at this point. However if it is not, go ahead and heat for increments of 15 seconds, and stirring in between until smooth.
Pour the frosting mixture over your dry ingredients in the large bowl, and mix well. Make sure you toss the ingredients so that they are evenly coated. Then spread the mixture (in a single layer) on your baking sheet. Use a spatula to smooth down. Add your blue sprinkles quickly so that the sugar sticks to the wet frosting.
Place in your refrigerator for at least one hour. Once the mixture as set, gently break it apart into bite size snack pieces. Mix in your gummy fish and enjoy!
This snack mix is also perfect for entertaining. Why not host a FINDING NEMO Movie Night to get ready for FINDING DORY? Munch on this snack mix while you enjoy the film!
