Now being of Irish descendent, I love experimenting in the kitchen with traditional meals and foods popular in Ireland. However, from time to time, I like to try out recipes from other countries outside of the United States and Ireland. While watching the teaser trailer for Thor: The Dark World the other day, I decided to check out some delicious Scandanavian recipes. Here’s a recipe for Strawberry Jordgubbskräm, which I’m sure would be a favorite for any Norse God!
Ingredients
3 cups of fresh cut strawberries
2 cups of water
1/2 cup of sugar
2 1/2 tablespoons of cornstarch
Directions
Take your strawberries and slice and cute them to your desired size. Don’t leave any huge ones. Try to cuts those down into smaller pieces. Place the strawberries in a saucepan with the sugar. Separately you’ll want to mix the cornstarch with a little bit of water. Keep adding a little water until you have a thin paste. Add the paste into the saucepan with the strawberries and sugar and start to mix. The pour in the remaining water and stir.
You’ll want to bring the water to a gentle boil, while stirring carefully. Once this is done, remove the saucepan from the heat immediately. Let the strawberry mixture stand for a bit.
Feel free to sprinkle a little more sugar on top. Jordgubbskräm can be served warm or cold. I prefer to let mine sit in the fridge overnight before enjoying. I think the compote is absolutely delicious with vanilla ice cream!
Now that you have your delicious dessert, why not sit back, relax and watch the trailer for Thor: The Dark World? That’s what I did!

The next Thor movie looks like it will be so much fun to watch. I hear it’s supposed to be a damsel in distress movie. I just love those where the hero rescues the girl and not the other way around.
I pinned your Strawberry Jordgubbskräm. Looks delicious!
