Wow… has it really been twenty-five years since Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST became the FIRST animated feature film to receive an Academy Award® nomination for best picture??? Wow now I feel old LOL. BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is my ALL-TIME favorite Disney film! While I can’t wait to see the live action come March 2017, I’m super excited that the animated version will now join the Walt Disney Signature Collection. This film is coming to Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on September 6, and Blu-ray / DVD on September 20!
I’m excited that the Blu-ray release will include the original theatrical film; an extended version with the “Human Again” song sequence and a never-before-released on home entertainment sing-along version. Walt Disney Pictures’ magical animated classic “Beauty and the Beast” captures the magical journey of Belle (voice of Paige O’Hara), an independent and intelligent, modern-day heroine who’s taken prisoner by a hideous beast (voice of Robby Benson) in his castle. If you are a Beauty and the Beast fan, you are probably thrilled with this exciting news! As I mentioned above, the animated classic is my favorite Disney film, and I definitely will want to add the 25th Anniversary Edition to my collection… But I can’t tell you how excited I am for the live version as well!
