Thanks to the quite generous people of Disney and DreamWorks, I recently attended the red carpet premiere of Delivery Man this past Sunday night. The #DeliveryManEvent (I hope you were following the hashtag) was beyond amazing. This actually was the first RED carpet I’ve ever walked on (Monsters University had a BLUE carpet… so that TECHNICALLY wasn’t red carpet) With light bulbs flashing, and cameras snapping (obviously for the stars, not little ole me), twenty-four other bloggers and I arrived on the Red Carpet at the El Capitan Theatre to strut our way into the premiere showing of Delivery Man.
The film stars Vince Vaughn as affable underachiever David Wozniak, whose anonymous donations to a fertility clinic 20 years earlier resulted in 533 children. Now David must embark on a journey that “leads him to discover not only his true self but also the father that he could become”. Chris Pratt plays his best friend, lawyer, and overwhelmed father Brett, while Cobie Smulders plays David’s love interest Emma.
Now if you read my most recent posts leading up to my trip out to California, you’ll know that the Delivery Man premiere was a last minute surprise. When I say last minute, I mean last minute! The excitement of attending an additional red carpet premiere fueled my adrenaline while on my mission to find another red carpet worthy outfit in one week. Luckily mission accomplished! New dress? Check! New shoes? Check! New jewelry? Check! Okay, so maybe I already owned my shawl and handbag, but I was more than thrilled to be taking another red carpet look in my suitcase. Once I packed my outfit, in less than a week, I was standing here… the RED CARPET:
Delivery Man Red Carpet
Unfortunately my time on the carpet was short. I walked, posed, had a bloggy buddy take my photo, and then I continued onto the theater. Still though… it was quite an exciting experience! Since I didn’t have the time to take photos of the wonderful celebrities and stars of the film who walked the carpet, DreamWorks Pictures was generous enough to send over some photographs of the event that I can share with you all, my wonderful readers (Photography credit goes to DreamWorks Pictures):
Now I don’t want to say too much about the film since I’m currently crafting a review post of the film. I’ll go into more details later this month in my review of Delivery Man. However, I will say that the film is full of heart and love. It is a great mix of comedy and drama. Delivery Man is definitely one of those films that is great to see with your family on Thanksgiving. Hint hint… the film comes out the Friday before Thanksgiving!
Delivery Man After Party at Hard Rock Cafe
After the movie ended, we walked across the street to the Hard Rock Cafe, the location of the film’s after party. What a better way to celebrate my first RED carpet than with a Hollywood party?
NOTE (because yes, this is oh so important… It’s okay, you can roll your eyes at me after reading), please excuse my extreme paleness in the photo below. The flash bulb was not kind to my skin. I swear I’m not a vampire (though I’m kind of digging the redhead effect it gave to my hair. Maybe I should have been Ariel the Little Mermaid for Halloween?). The cocktails were delicious (hello fruit and rum!), and for dinner I enjoyed a citrus salad and turkey slider. I heard there were amazing beef, bacon, and avocado sliders. Sadly I did not get my fingers on them.
The following are photos of the crowd so you can get an idea of the atmosphere. Shall we play a game of “Can You Spot the Mommy Blogger?” I’ll give you a hint… there are 24 of them (plus one daddy blogger!) among the crowd. I did get to chat with Chris Pratt and his lovely wife Anna Faris for a bit! What a super friendly couple and down to earth for sure.
#DeliveryManEvent Instagram Fun
Hopefully you followed my Instagram feed these past few days while I attended the events in California. If you didn’t, be sure to check it out at ashb4211! You’ll definitely want to see the photos everyone was posting linking to the #DeliveryManEvent hashtag.
It truly was a fun, entertaining, and enjoyable night. Walking the red carpet, viewing an emotional heartfelt film that also made you laugh, and enjoying a private after party where I was able to chat with people from all over the entertainment field… What wasn’t there to love? I know I’ll definitely be holding onto my guest badge and premiere ticket as mementos from this wonderful evening.
Don’t forget to connect with DELIVERY MAN on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram! The film is slated for release on November 22, which is the Friday before Thanksgiving! A review is coming soon… but trust me, this is a great film to see Thanksgiving weekend with your family.
A HUGE THANK YOU to DreamWorks Pictures and Disney for all their hard work on this film and such wonderful Delivery Man events. I had an absolutely amazing time at the premiere and after party. I honestly can’t thank Disney enough for their generosity. Thank you!
Delivery Man Trailer
Just in case you have not watched the Delivery Man trailer yet… here you go!
While I attended an expense paid trip by Disney to the Delivery Man Premiere, all opinions are 100% my own.
