If you read my previous blog entry on getting in shape, you already know my background story. As mentioned, I’ll be working with Dustin Maher from Fit Moms for Life on a “21 Day Challenge” come February.
However, Dustin generously sent me one of his workout DVDs and book to jump start on getting back in shape! Why wait till February?!? If I want to get back in shape, NOW is always the best time to start. Here is my quick rundown of how I’m doing with the workouts so far.
Monday, the 16th, was my first day with the new work out routine. Dustin divides the routine into strength, cardio, and core. One thing I loved is that he goes through the routine with an “every day” mom! The mom is Jodi, who is a client of Dustin’s. She lost over 50 lbs working with him. Plus, Dustin doesn’t provide music, which is great because I can then turn on my own music that keeps me pumped!
With the strength routine, he goes through it three times. I was really proud of myself for making it all three times. I did have trouble with the squats as I’ve had knee issues in the past. I also had trouble with the push-ups, but now I know it is something I need to work on! The cardio was awesome! It’s quick but intense. It really gets your heartbeat up. With the core workout, I could definitely feel it in my muscles. One of the first moves that you do is a “plank”. I’m proud of myself that I did the plank for the full 45 seconds, but wow was my body shaking and begging me just to drop a knee. I then had trouble with side planks and when I attempted planks again. Again, something I need to work on!
It is recommended doing the whole workout every other day, or breaking it up by doing 1 or 2 parts every day. So for Day 1 I did the whole workout routine. Yesterday was Day 2, and I didn’t not do the workout routine, mostly since I had a party after work that took up my whole evening. So today is Day 3, and I’ll do the whole routine again tonight. I might switch it up to doing a portion one day and the other portion the following, just so I’m working out every day. Or I maybe stick to the whole routine every other day, and on my “off” days I’ll take long walks in my community just to keep myself moving. Guess you have to stay tune to see what I do!
I received complimentary product(s) from the sponsoring company. This is 100% my own honest opinion. No one has influenced me otherwise and I was in no way compensated financially. My opinion is solely based on my own experience with this product.

I have a hard time sticking to a routine. I do not need to loose weight but, I definetly could use the strength training. I probly should look into this more because it helps to be a part of a group to keep other’s motivated.
