Attention dancers! Or rather, attention those who have little ones who love to dance! In honor of its sixth season on PBS Kids, the Curious George television series is going to feature a special focus on the arts. This includes DANCING! Now my little one loves to dance in his own special way. Just shy of a year old, I often find him turning on his mobile music attached to his crib and happily bouncing up and down to the melodies. The big grin on his face lets me know he is having a blast!
So if your child is like mine, they love to exercise that creativity and show off their dance moves. Now what better way to show off those moves than through the first-ever Curious George Dance Contest! All you have to do is catch your kid(s) dancing to the Curious George theme song on video, and they’ll have a chance to be featured on a Curious George DVD! Who knows… They may even win a visit from Curious George himself!
So now through April 2, 2012, parents (or guardians) of children ages eight and under, can send in a video of their little one(s) shaking, grooving, and showing off their best moves to the Curious George Contest. The videos will be rated on enthusiasm, creativity and originality. A panel of judges will select 10 finalists for the contest. Then, starting April 16th through April 30th, the public will vote on a winner! All 10 finalists will receive a Curiosity Kit, which includes a book, game, DVD, and other fun Curious George merchandise.
So get that camera ready, turn on the Curious George theme song, and start recording those movies for your chance to win! You can read the rules and guidelines, as well as learn more about the contest at the Curious George Dance Contest website.
