Though it already debuted online, tonight at 8:30 PM EST, is the one-hour television premiere of Disney Channel’s new series ANDI MACK! The series was created (and is executive produced) by Terri Minsky, who also created the well known Disney Channel series, LIZZIE MCGUIRE. ANDI MACK tells a contemporary coming-of-age story about a 13-year-old girl.
The warm, relatable and funny stories of “Andi Mack,” geared towards kids, tweens and families, center on the most important things in any young person’s life – family, friends and the journey of self-discovery.
The series stars newcomer Peyton Elizabeth Lee as Andi Mack, the girl whose life goes from routine to roller coaster overnight. Andi is contemplative and artistic, but completely sheltered by overprotective parents. In the first episode, on the eve of her 13th birthday, Andi’s free-spirited older sister Bex returns home with a revelation that changes everything! It sends Andi on an uncharted course of self-discovery. Along with her best friends, Cyrus and Buffy, the teens work to figure out their place in this world, while learning to step out of their comfort zones.
Common Sense Media recently gave the series a rare 5 out of 5 star review and just launched a video viewer’s guide called “Conversations about Andi Mack.” The video features a Youth Development Expert, Dr. Yalda T. Uhls of Common Sense Media, discussing the themes represented in the series including self-expression, acceptance, communication and optimism.
The conversations include tips and suggestions from Dr. Uhls, and insights and personal experiences from families on how to use the storytelling in the series to initiate and navigate through meaningful conversations with your family.

Won’t be around tonight to catch the first episode (which is the first half hour of the premiere)? No worries! It actually already debuted digitally and has over 2.3 million views!! I think Disney certainly has another hit on their hands…
