I was recently invited by Influester to check out The Taste on ABC. Now I had seen a few promos but had yet to sit down and watch the show. I checked a few clips and seriously could not stop laughing. This is a great cooking competition show with some entertaining personalities!
This one-hour cooking competition started with 16 culinary competitors (both pro chefs and home cooks), who work on the teams of famous chefs Anthony Bourdain Nigella Lawson, Ludo Lefebvre, and Brian Malarkey. Each superstar mentors a team in individual challenges with a variety of culinary themes through various elimination rounds. The superstars then blindly judge the competitors’ dishes blind with no idea who created what dish.
The last episode I watched was Episode 4 titled Dairing Pairings in which each team had to use five unique ingredients in a competition to create the best dish. Now I’m a fine of wine, so the wine pairing theme was right p my alley. I actually really enjoy cooking shows because they often provide me with great culinary ideas to try in my own kitchen! I took away from this episode some ideas of what to pair with wines and an idea of what NOT to pair with wines. After viewing, I couldn’t wait to jump into the kitchen and start creating.
If you love cooking competition shows, then you definitely need to check out The Taste!
Watch It: Be sure to check out The Taste on Tuesdays at 9/8c on ABC! Click HERE to watch previously aired episodes.
