Today, June 18th, is International Sushi Day!
This “holiday” was first celebrated on June 18th, 2009, created by the administrator of the “Sushi” Facebook page, Chris DeMay.
Sushi day celebrations like this one can be celebrated any way you like. Just one requirement… enjoy sushi! I’ve seen many social gatherings pop up during which participants roll their own sushi, or create an appetizing sashimi dish.
Some of my favorite sushi rolls include a Philadelphia (or Bagel) roll which consists of Smoked Salmon cream cheese. Some of my favorite sushi places add in avocado in the roll too. Another favorite is a Shrimp Tempura roll and Shrimp and Shitake (mushrooms) roll.
What sushi do you enjoy?

Sushi is a hit and miss for me, sometimes. I have tried several kinds, but I don’t know if I have a favorite yet.

I have had sushi exactly once in my life. I was in highschool, it was my friend’s birthday, and he wanted to go to a Japanese restaurant. So I brought him and he made me try sushi because it was his birthday. I did and now I can truly say I DO NOT LIKE SUSHI, lol. So someone better have had some sushi for me ;).
