So I’ve been hiding a secret from you all. A BIG secret. You know back in April when I attended the World Premiere Red Carpet for AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR? Well, while in California, I also made a secret visit to the set of CAPTAIN MARVEL!
I can’t tell you quite yet what I saw and experienced on the set. However, trust me, it’s going to be worth the wait! We had an AWESOME time, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it. Just not yet…
Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ CAPTAIN MARVEL is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.
If you were watching Monday Night Football last night, you probably caught the *NEW* CAPTAIN MARVEL trailer!! Or let’s be real, if you were anywhere near social media, you saw! And if you were like me, you watched it over and over and over again. But if case you missed it… here it is!
So essentially in this trailer, it is confirmed that the old lady Captain Marvel punched in the teaser is indeed a shape-shifting villainous Skrull! It appears that the film will take place during a war of the Skrulls vs Kree (with Captain Marvel declaring she is Kree). It appears as if the war is now headed to earth, where Captain Marvel is originally from. As many comic book fans already know, Captain Marvel was once Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot who gained her powers when she crashed into a Kree technology.
I like that in the trailer we were treated to more footage of Captain Marvel in her Binary form! If you read the comics, you’ll know that she can go Binary by pulling in the energy of a “White Hole.” A theory is that the MCU will actually use the Quantum Realm as the White Hole. Guess we just have to wait and see!
And also… did Carol just fly a Quinjet???? Does that mean she worked with S.H.E.I.L.D. before?? Or is she just have flashbacks to her human life and can suddenly remember how to fly any jet?
The film stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Rune Temte, Algenis Perez Soto, Mckenna Grace, with Annette Bening. Marvel Studios’ CAPTAIN MARVEL is produced by Kevin Feige and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Patricia Whitcher and Stan Lee are the executive producers.
CAPTAIN MARVEL arrives in theatres everywhere on March 8th, 2019!
I’ll have plenty more CAPTAIN MARVEL coverage coming in the next few months, leading up to the March release. Stay tune for my Secret Set Visit, when I can finally spill what it was like on set!
I received the above trailer as a blogger via Walt Disney Publications. All opinions are 100% my own.
