Attn Avengers fans!! Last year Marvel released AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON and ANT-MAN. Now in just a little over two more months, they will give us fans CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR (and DR. STRANGE later this year)!!! I don’t know about you, but I’ve been on pins and needs eagerly awaiting this film since it was announced. It will be exciting to see it how true they stay to the comic book storyline… but either way, I can’t wait! With the idea of Captain America vs Iron Man fresh in my mind, I’ve been experimenting in the kitchen some recipes to incorporate the rivalry. Recently I created “blue vs red” colored fudge, which is the recipe I’m sharing with you today!
Ingredients
2 and a half cups of sugar
half a cup of butter
5 oz of evaporated milk
2 cups of marshmallow fluff
8 oz of white chocolate chips
red and blue food coloring
Directions
First let’s get our dish prepared. Take a 8×8″ square pan, and either grease it, or line it with parchment paper. Once that is done, set the pan aside. Next you’ll want to take a large pot and combine the sugar, butter, and evaporated milk, and place it over medium heat. Make sure you stir frequently. Once it comes to a boil, stir the mixture really well for about 5 minutes. Then stir in the white chocolate chips and marshmallow fluff. Keep it up with the stirring until the mixture is smooth.
Then go ahead and divide the mixture into two separate bowls. One you should tint with the red food coloring, while in the other, you tint it with the blue. Once your colors are mixed in really well, pour the red fudge into the prepared dish. Smooth the topping with a rubber spatula. Now pour on top the blue fudge. Now depending on how you want the two colors to “interact,” it all depends on how fast you pour the fudge. If you pour the blue on immediately after pouring the red, you can use a knife to drag through the mixture for a more “marble” effect. If you take your time pouring the blue after the red, your fudge will have a more layered look. It’s all up to you!
Once your fudge is poured, you can place it in the refrigerator for cooling. Once it is completely cooled, slice, serve, and enjoy! This fudge is especially great to make for any Captain America party, as well as if you need a snack while you marathon CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER or CAPTAIN AMERICA: WINTER SOLDIER.
