Today I have another recipe geared towards my Avengers fans!! Recently I shared with you a recipe for CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR inspired fudge. Today I’m sharing with you a recipe for CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Cereal Treat Bars! Just 52 more days till this movie opens in the theaters, and we cannot wait. Make sure you check out the new trailer and all about the Girls Reforming the Future Challenge.
Not too long ago we saw Captain America cereal in our local grocery store. Of course we had to buy it! Immediately we decided to use it for cereal bars! My son loves enjoying these bars in his lunch, and what better way to celebrate one of his favorite super heroes.
Ingredients
5 tablespoons of butter
12 oz of mini marshmallows
6 cups of Captain America cereal
8 oz (or one bar) of white candy coating
red and blue food coloring
Directions
First you’ll want to spray a large pan with cooking spray. I like to use a 9 x 13 inch pan. Go ahead and melt 5 tablespoons of butter over low heat in a large saucepan. Add in your marshmallows and make sure you stir constantly until they are almost melted. Then remove the pan from the heat and stir in the Captain America cereal.
Pour the mixture into the prepared pan, and press down using a rubber spatula until it all fits evenly in the pan. Let it cool at least 30 minutes. I usually like to place my in the refrigerator to cool.Once the bars are down cooling, cut them into individual bars. I’m able to get at least 15 bars out of the mixture. If you want to make your bars bigger, feel free! Now go ahead and microwave the candy coating as directed on the package. Divide the coating up. In one bowl use blue food coloring, and in the other, use red. Now take each bar and dip the bottom of each bar into the melted candy coating. Just a warning… it may get a little messy!! Depending whether you are #TeamCap or #TeamIronMan, dip the bars in the colors you choose. You can do all blue or all red! Or mix it up!Then place the dipped cereal bars, with coating side up, on a sheet of waxed or parchment paper. Either let them stand or place them in the refrigerator to let the coating set. After the coating sets, feel free to reheat any leftover coating and drizzle it on top of the bars! Just a nice touch to add a bit more color. Now once the coating is completely set, enjoy the bars! These delicious treats are great for any time… especially if you are hosting a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie marathon!!

Our house is split down the middle between Cap and IronMan. I don’t know if we’ll even sit together at the movie!
