My California Wine Experience
California Wine Club generously sent me two wines to taste! Both wines were from the Robledo Family Winery, The Seven Brothers. One was a 2009 Napa Valley Tempranillo, and the other was a 2008 Lake Country Sauvignonn Blanc.
Now I’ve always been more of a blush wine fan. I prefer light and sweet wine over anything too dry. I first tried the Sauvignon Blanc, after chilling it for quite some time. While I did find this wine a little on the dry side, it was still quite crisp and light! I did enjoy it very much as the wine was quite flavorful! I thought it paired nicely with the salmon and shrimp platter we were dining on.
As for the Tempranillo, I did chill it for a short bit of time so it wasn’t completely room temperature. It was still too dry for my test, but my friends were over and happily took the bottle off my hands! I didn’t taste the “berry” flavor that they did. I thought it had more of dry oak taste to it. They thought the Tempranillo was absolutely delicious and paired well with the grilled eggplant and prime rib we were dining on.
I was still impressed with the wines and love the concept for the club itself. Overall I think the California Wine Club makes a wonderful holiday gift. I think it came down to a matter of personal wine preference.

This review was made possible by Mom Spark Media. Thoughts are my own. I received a 2 month Membership to the California Wine Club for the purpose of this review.
I would love the International club. I lived in Europe for 3 years and really fell in love with the wine.
those look mighty inviting to the tastebuds. I’m not a big redwino, but I do love my whites and desert wines.
My little sister is a big wine fan! I shared this with her…. Maybe she’d like a membership for Christmas!
I think she’d like the Aged Cabernet club. She is soooo fancy!
I’d probably try the The Premier Club!
The signature series appeals to me.
The signature series :) That’s a great way to try out fantastic wines from smaller wineries (quality over quantity).
The Aged Cabernet Series as I am a lover of bold, full bodied wines.
