I’m so excited that Disneynature’s BORN IN CHINA is now in theaters everywhere! The film just opened today and we can’t wait to go see it this weekend in honor of Earth Day. Do you know what’s really awesome though about this film’s release? You, the moviegoer, will help out the World Wildlife Fund (WWF)! Disneynature (via the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund) will make a contribution to WWF, based on opening week attendance (April 21 – 287) to help protect the wild pandas and snow leopard that you see in this film.
This film (narrated by John Krasinski) takes you on an epic journey into the wilds of China! You’ll experience the most extreme environments, where few people have ever ventured! BORN IN CHINA follows the stories of three animal families.
You’ll meet a doting panda bear mother, who guides her growing baby as she begins to explore and seek independence. A two-year-old golden monkey who feels displaced by his new baby sister joins up with a group of free-spirited outcasts.
And a mother snow leopard—an elusive animal rarely caught on camera—faces the very real drama of raising her two cubs in one of the harshest and most unforgiving environments on the planet.

I’d love to know that Dawa’s cubs were looked after by WWF. I realize the way she died was totally natural but, if Snow Leopards are endangered, is there not dispensation for orphaned cubs?
