Summer is in full swing and we couldn’t be more excited to enjoy the season! I love that the sun is out, weather is warm, and the days are long. This summer, A&W is celebrating its 100th Anniversary of helping families create special moments! I love that A&W is committed to helping families connect with a bit of old-fashioned fun, by going technology-free, and enjoying a classic root beer float!
This year, A&W is offering the idea that every Friday, families go technology-free for one hour and get back to the root of being a family, with a delicious A&W Root Beer Float of course! To participate in A&W Family Fun Nights, all you have to do is head on over to www.rootbeer.com, and Take the Pledge with A&W to Make Time for Family.
When you take the pledge, you’ll receive a coupon for one FREE 2-Liter bottle of A&W Root Beer! How awesome is that? You bet I signed up for our free bottle!
I am so pumped for these Family Fun Nights. My son is totally on board too! I think mostly because he was excited for root beer floats. I can’t blame him for that! Floats are one of my favorite summer refreshing treats.
A&W Root Beer has a long history of creating family memories! The unique, creamy taste of it is a simple treat that creates fun, care-free experiences for families and can help make any moment special. During the summertime, our local Towne Centre hosts a Friday Night Concert Series. Luckily we are able to watch and listen to the music right from the balcony!
As the music started to wind down, the glasses started to empty. We decided to refill the floats and enjoy the beautiful weather outside, with a card game!
Sure the Pledge only requires an hour, but why not keep the technology-free night going if your family is willing! The family fun and floats kept my son smiling all night.
To help provide families with everything they need to jumpstart their Family Fun Nights this summer, A&W also debuts a first-of-its-kind Family Fun Night box! This box features a carefully curated selection of novelty items and essentials for creating root beer floats at home, to help make family time even more memorable. Order it off www.rootbeer.com while supplies last!

Love A&W Rootbeer and think the one hour technology free is great!
Oo yum, I love Root Beer. It’s been ages since I’ve had some, so I need to pick up a bottle and make floats! We like to have movie nights, so they’ll be perfect for that.
It is such a good idea to get unplugged for a few hours and actually talk as a family. We love A and W so getting some for free is a great idea.
I love this idea! I think it is important to unplug! You need family time that has nothing to do with technology. We LOVE root beer floats!
Taking some time away from tech to relax and chat with my family sounds fun. The free A&W is super cool!
Funny enough I just did this exact thing last Saturday!
Had a root beer float (which was amazing!) and finally finished the jigsaw puzzle I had been working on forever.
This is one of my kiddos favorite beverage. I have to make sure to add this to my shopping list.
Root Beer Floats were such a staple in my childhood especially during Summer. Thanks for the reminder we need to get back to the simple things.
Gosh, I love to unplug for over an hour and enjoy some family time. This is why I love summer. Would like to try AW root beer
Oh, how fun that A & W is doing this fun idea for families. I use to go to A & W drive ups back in the day. Their floats were the best.
I’m trying to reduce the use of technology in our home. It’s not always easy with 3 kids but I’m sure if I’m more persistent than they are and if i give them enough fun things to do I’ll manage.
My kids would definitely give up technology for a rootbeer float haha! YUMMY!
Yes I am trying to reduce technology in our home Root beet is my kids favorite drink. We are planning to go more out.
That’s a great pledge, sometimes technology can hinder family bonds and make it difficult to communicate with your family.
I don’t have anything planned for A&W Family Fun Nights but now I have to consider starting one.
What a great way to encourage people to be screen free. Love this idea!
It’s one of my favorite sodas! I used to drink it with ice cream on top ;) yummy!
I was a carhop for A & W back in the 70s. They have always had strong family values.
