Experience All Things Avengers: Age of Ultron with the Super Heroes Assemble App at Walmart!

I can’t tell you how excited I am for MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron to hit theaters on May 1, 2015! If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know that I was fortunate enough to screen the film earlier this month while attending a press trip in California. While out there, I attended the The Avengers Press Junket where I met and interviewed many of the talented individuals starring in the film.

Upon returning from the trip, I was in desperate need to hit the store and stock up on groceries. Plus, I did promise my son a new toy for his birthday, which was earlier this month, due to another gift not arriving because of a shipping issue. I headed to my local Walmart for food and goodies, and luckily for me, I have the Super Heroes Assemble App downloaded on my phone, and I’ll tell you why…

I love that the app is super easy to use! Right now it is available for download via either the iOS (iTunes store) or Google Play. Yes there is an Android version. It is pretty cool that you can check out the features and unlock bonus material right there in the store, or at home using Walmart.com.

So let me give you a quick look at the app first. When you open the app, you’ll see the screen shown above, with these tabs to open:

• Discover
• Suit Up
• Movie
• Characters
• 360
• Photo Opp
• Wishlist

In each of these tabs, you can unlock special features. You can do this by tapping into Discover, and then tapping the icons of the different characters on top. You can also unlock features when you explore the other tabs. You’ll be prompted back to Discover to unlock. You can unlock features by scanning the characters and signage in Walmart stores, or on the Walmart website, as I mentioned above.At the Walmart website, you’ll see an icon of a lock that says Unlock more epic content. Simply click the image, and you can start to scan and discover more with your app.Two pretty awesome features of the app are Suit Up and Photo Opp! Both allow you to use your camera to create photos of yourself with the characters from the filmMy son had a blast with the Suit Up feature! He’s been an Iron Man fan since he was a baby, no lie. He was loving the fact that I could take photos of him and then place an Iron Man mask over his face. This is a great feature for any young Marvel fan who wants to be a super hero. You can swing Thor’s mighty hammer or shoot Hawkeye’s bow and arrow, just to name a few. As for the Photo Opp feature, I had to unlock mine on my computer. The purpose is for you to be able to pose in a photo with your favorite character. If you can find the Doritos sign in your store to scan, I’m sure it makes for a photo better than trying it at home!There are also trailers! Yes under the Movie tab you’ll find trailers, as well as a photo gallery, which includes a look behind the scenes. There is also a number of featurettes related to the film, and footage.
Now back to my Walmart trip! As I shopped for my groceries, it wasn’t long before looking through aisles did we start to spot The Avengers themed goodies! My son was beyond ecstatic.We noticed that multiple Kellogg’s cereals featured The Avengers on them. As you can see from above, my son was happy to grab the box of Limited Edition The Avengers marshmallow cereal. We also picked up two other favorites, Pops and Krave.

Since my son takes Cheez-Its to school in his lunch, it worked out perfectly that Walmart offered the snack pack. He asks for The Avengers Fruit Snacks nearly every day!

Love Avengers and Dr. Pepper? You are in luck! Check out Dr. Pepper at your local Walmart and you could win one of 50 (2-pack) movie ticket gift cards! That would sure come in handy when you go to see MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron opening May 1st. Plus there were some pretty cool special edition cans available. In addition, starting April 30th, you can scan any 12 packs of Dr. Pepper featuring The Avengers or scan the in-store signage to unlock a digital comic book! Now as we passed the chips aisle, I couldn’t help but notice that special edition Doritos packages were available! There was even a giant display at the end of the aisle featuring everyone’s favorite MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron characters. My son quickly spotted his favorite, Iron Man, on the Nacho Cheese Doritos. As for the other characters, Black Widow is on Jacked Buffalo Ranch, Captain America is on Cool Ranch,  Hulk is on Jacked 3D Jalapeno Pepper Jack, and finally Thor is on Spicy Nacho. When you purchase the special addition Doritos, you have the chance to enter special codes at the Doritos website to win prizes!With a cart full of The Avengers themed treats, I was playing around with the app while strolling to the Toy aisles. At that point I actually was surprised to find out I unlocked the Hulkbuster Testing Facility! I wanted to stop and play. However my son urged me that we just had to get to the toy section to find him a new toy. I have to say though, when you download this app… you definitely want to unlock this fun feature!It wasn’t long before we were great by a huge The Avengers sign displaying our favorite characters. I knew we had arrived to the toy section.Excited about all the new MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron toys, my son was on cloud nine! I had to regularly remind him he could only choose ONE toy. Decisions decisions decisions. Of course once he found exactly what he wanted, he snatched it up right away! Yes, my son chose the Hulk Buster. He was beyond excited about his new birthday gift. In which speaking of gifts… the app also includes a Wishlist and Shopping feature. This was great if your child has an upcoming birthday and is a Marvel fan. Let’s just say, when I got home from this shopping trip, looking over my bounty, pretty much everything was The Avengers! Check it out for yourself…Remember those Dr. Pepper special edition cans I mentioned earlier? When I got home I just couldn’t wait to check out which ones I purchased…. drumroll… We got Iron Man!Of course my son is loving not only playing with the new app, but playing with his new Hulkbuster and enjoying all The Avengers themed goodies offered at Walmart.Of course his favorite part is probably all the snacks. He is loving the Kellog’s Krispie Treats with chocolate chips in them!Heading to Walmart with the Super Heroes Assemble App is a MUST for any Marvel fan! If you are excited as I am for this film’s release on May 1st, then I highly recommend you download and unlock all the fun features today.
