There was an idea, Stark knows this, called the Avengers Initiative. The idea was to bring together a group of remarkable people, see if they could become something more. See if they could work together when we needed them to to fight the battles we never could. I can’t help but feel chills every time I hear those words, so famous spoken by Nick Fury. As you know, Monday night, April 23, I attended the Hollywood premiere for AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR on Hollywood Blvd. It was nearly ten years ago that the Marvel Cinematic Universe began with IRON MAN. Who knew what would spin off of this project, featuring a character never seen in live action before! (Well to be fair, Marvel Studios probably knew!) It created global box office and cinematic history. And now here we stand, just a few days away from the release of one of Marvel Studios’ most anticipated films, and I couldn’t be more thrilled for you to witness the epic journey and adventure of when Marvel icons, the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and other heroes we’ve met on this adventure, finally join forces. This is not a film to a miss!
Back when Marvel Studios first announced they were making a film titled INFINITY WAR, I know many Marvel fans wondered how much of the Infinity Gauntlet story line would be pulled into the MCU. I just want to say that whether you’ve read the comic or not, INFINITY WAR is the movie to see this year! Comic book fan or not, you will be speechless! Or at least speechless was my state as the credits rolled. Then finally a word came to mind for the film. INTENSE. I say INTENSE in a good way though. Keep reading to find out why…
Two years after the Avengers were torn apart during the events of CAPTAIN: AMERICA CIVIL WAR, Thanos arrives on Earth to collect the Infinity Stones for a gauntlet that will allow him to bend reality to his will. The Avengers must join forces with the Guardians of the Galaxy to stop him before his onslaught of destruction puts an end to half the universe.
Now that you know this INTENSE film left me SPEECHLESS (but in a good way!), check out my favorite reasons to see INFINITY WAR.
Critical Moments to the MCU Story-line: One can argue that within the previous 18 films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there are ones critical to the overall story-line (i.e. CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER) and ones that the non-Marvel fan could skip if wanting to see INFINITY WAR (yeah, I’m totally not naming any because I vote you see them ALL).
INFINITY WAR serves as somewhat of a turning point for many of the characters we’ve watched on the big screen since IRON MAN. I firmly stand by that you cannot see the untitled AVENGERS 4 in 2019, until you see INFINITY WAR. This film is quite critical and plays an intricate role in the overall story-line arc that has been building the past 10 years.
Amazing Action and Battle Sequences: It’s no secret that Thanos and a number of the Avengers finally come face to face in INFINITY WAR. And boy did Marvel not disappoint! I’ve always been a fan of Marvel’s action sequences (I’m looking at you WINTER SOLIDER, CIVIL WAR, BLACK PANTHER), I admit. But INFINITY WAR truly kept me on the edge of my seat, wide-eyes, biting my nails, and holding my breath.
I will say that the movie does not feel like it is 2 hours and 40 minutes. INFINITY WAR is well-paced. Even with a longer running time, the movie does not drag, and I believe that is due to the ever present action and intriguing story-lines.
Strong Female Characters: Marvel Studios has brought a number of kick-butt women warriors to the forefront. Black Widow, Gamora, Okoye, Scarlet Witch, Nebula, Nakia, and the Dora Milaje (and The Wasp come July 9!). In this film, the female leads not only show strength, but bravery and fearlessness. They go into “survival mode” so to speak, doing what they need to do to try to stop Thanos. If there is ever a moment when you think a character is weak, think again. They go to show exactly how strong they truly are, whether going into battle…
… Or making the difficult and emotional decisions to help the greater good.
Suits Suits Suits: From the trailer, audiences know that Peter Parker will battle in the Iron Spider suit. Fans have eagerly been waiting for Spider-Man to wear this famous suit since its existence was made known in SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING. Now fans will finally see it in action!
Movie-goers will also see Iron Man, sport nanomachine-based suit. Fans have guessed that this is either The Bleeding Edge, or Model Prime, or a similar based suit. Whichever one it truly is, fans will agree that it is AWESOME to see on the big screen.
Now we often see Tony constantly upgrade his suit in each film. But this suit takes the cake in what it can do!
I loved watching some of our favorite heroes finally wear these famous suits in the MCU. However, a fan favorite suit returns to the big screen… the Hulkbuster!
SURPRISE! Marvel Studios has worked hard to keep many secrets of this film underwrap. Remember, Thanos demands your silence! So since I want this to remain a spoiler-free review, just trust me. There are surprises that will make you gasp! AND please please please stay for the after-credits scene. It is one you DO NOT want to miss!! Trust me on this.
Celebrate a 10 Year Legacy: Similar to what I stated above in that this film portrays such critical events in the MCU… this film also celebrates the amazing 10 years that the MCU has graced the big screen. The “blood, sweat, and tears” that have gone into the creation of these movies is one to be acknowledged. Just as Marvel Studios has always acknowledged us fans… one of the top reasons to see this film, is to acknowledge Marvel right back, by seeing INFINITY WAR this weekend!
So there you go. You have action, adventure, bravery, and above all FEARLESSNESS at the center of the latest MCU installment. Even with all the battle sequences, intense action, the film will take you on a roller-coaster of emotions with amazing story-telling, and the reminder to remain fearless, and fight for the greater good.

These are all good reasons although I don’t think fans need any more reasons to see their favorite characters! The theaters will be packed for this movie!
My youngest is a BIG Avengers fan, so we’ll definitely be seeing this movie at some point. I’m actually quite excited :)

I have always wanted to take my daughter to see this movie. I think it’s great that they have strong female actors in it because it shows the girls they can do anything if they put their mind to it.
