As I type this post, it is hard to describe the emotions I am feeling. Is surreal the right word for what I experienced less than 72 hours ago? We all have “bucket lists” or once-in-a-lifetime experiences we all dream and wish will happen to us. As a Marvel fan, I can say, without a doubt, that the past 3 days made my Top 5 Marvel “OMG THIS IS AWESOME” Moments list. If you’ve been following the hashtag #InfinityWarEvent, you’ll know that I had the humbling privilege to attend the Red… err, actually “Purple” Carpet World Premiere of Marvel Studios’ AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR!
The Purple Carpet
Now I’ve attended a number of premieres before, but this was only the second time I attended a Marvel red carpet event (first being THOR: THE DARK WORLD). What made the AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR premiere so unique is that it completely took over Hollywood Blvd, with the film showing at the Dolby Theatre, El Capitan Theatre, and the TLC Chinese Theatre! I was fortunate enough to enjoy the film in the Dolby Theatre.
Waiting in line to enter the Carpet area, I swear I had to pinch myself! It just felt so incredible to know that I was about to hit the premiere of probably the most anticipated movie of the year… let alone probably one of the most anticipated movies in the MCU! I mean, INFINITY WAR is 10 years in the making!
At the entrance I was greeted by the Infinity Stone inspired character posters! As you know, the Infinity Stones play an intricate part in this film. I just knew I had to snap a photo in front of my favorite one… the Space Stone featuring Captain America!
But let’s be honest… it’s not my only favorite poster. Had to snap photos with “Iron Man” and “Thor” too!
As I walked along the carpet, I could see ahead a giant AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR sign. Once I entered and turned the corner, I saw what looked like the most amazing Marvel memorabilia film prop / costume collection ever!
But before I dive into the memorabilia, let me just say… Premieres are always such unique and memorable experiences! I’m not a celebrity, I know that. But walking a Hollywood carpet isn’t an every day event for me. It’s always great to look back on the photos that reflect these fun memories! So yes, be prepared for lots and lots of photos!
The Memorabilia
Any guesses on the first item I saw that immediately grabbed my attention??? If you guessed the Infinity Gauntlet, you are correct!
But that’s not the only amazing item I spotted! Check out all the epic costumes and props displayed out on the “purple carpet”!
The Film’s Premiere
Now if the Dolby Theatre sounds familiar to you, I’ll tell you why. This is where the Oscars take place! How amazing is that?
Now since our phones are locked upon entering the theatre, I was unable to take photos inside. However, check out some of the images below provided by Marvel Studios!
My fellow bloggers and I actually sat in the front row aka “The Meryl Streep” seats.
It’s a pretty sweet spot to be in when the cast lines up on stage prior to the screening!
After they lined up, Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) made a heartfelt emotional speech on the 10 years of amazing Marvel Studios ventures and creations. I think my favorite part was when he called the MCU “an isolated incident” in the history of Hollywood. He noted that “None of us are in competition with each other. We are all competing FOR each other, and for YOU” and motioned to us, the audience, the fans.
We also heard the sibling directing team, Joe and Anthony Russo, talk about the film, and of course, remind us that Thanos Demands Your Silence.
I can’t reiterate it enough… but please please please go into this film “unspoiled”. Do not look up the spoilers. It is so WORTH IT, to experience the excitement, surprises, and shock you will witness in this film.
Though he did not come out on stage, it was thrilling to know that Stan Lee was able to attend the premiere and once again see some of the amazing characters he is responsible for up on the big screen.

The After Party
What made this event even more special is that we were able to attend the Marvel Studios After Party!!
While walking about the crowd, enjoying the party, I had the privilege to run into and chit chat with a few celebrities. And who was up first? The God of Thunder himself!! Chris Hemsworth plays Thor perfectly to a Capital T!
Now please excuse the fuzziness of the photo below, as either my had was shaking or just the bad lucky poor lighting… but I also met Chadwick Boseman who plays T’Challa / Black Panther in the MCU. I also conversed with Henry Simmons aka Mack from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Interestingly enough, I had a chance to participate in a interview with him 3 years ago during the #AgeofUltronEvent. Honestly he has to be one of the nicest guys around.
Similar to the memorabilia out on the carpet, Marvel displayed costumes (actually worn on set by the actors themselves) all around the party room. Check out some of my favorites:
Now what is something you’ll find at every After (or Before) Party, but is always worth the fun? Green screen photo opps! Unfortunately a dancing video I made with 3 other bloggers was not properly shared with me. However, check out this fun photo I took with Amanda from Guide 4 Moms!
Last (but not least!) I saw a display created by Comic Cave! How cool are these figurines?
It was such a great time celebrating the film with not only friends, but with the amazing cast and crew who made INFINITY WAR possible!
As I’ve mentioned many times, it all still feels so surreal! The premiere, film, and After Party were all such a MARVELOUS experience. Definitely a night I will remember always! Thank you again to Walt Disney Publications and Marvel Studios for the invitation to such an epic evening.

When you watched it in the Dolby theatre, was there a lot of audience reactions during some of the scenes?? Like clapping/laughing/cheering?? I’m curious to know how everyone was during the emotional scenes
