So the snow is finally melting here, and the sun is finally shining. Spring is coming soon, which means Summer isn’t too far behind. Know why this momma is excited for Spring and Summer? Well yes, warm weather of course, which means lots of time outside. However I’m really excited that Marvel’s AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON hits theaters May 1st, and ANT-MAN hits theaters July 17th!
I was watching the trailers the other day, and ANT-MAN made me think of one of my favorite snacks as a kid… Ants on a Log!! Now with the warm weather approaching, this means PICNIC TIME! Ants on a Log is the PERFECT snack for your little one to enjoy during a picnic, or just when they need to refuel their energy for time spent outside. I love that this snack is packed full of protein and Vitamin B!
Check out my simple tutorial below on how to create this easy summer snack inspired by Marvel’s ANT-MAN!
Ingredients
Stalks of celery
Peanut Butter
Raisins
Directions
Did you gather your ingredients? Great! This tutorial is super easy. So let’s get started…
Wash your celery first. Then with the stalks of celery, cut each one crosswise. This way there is a concave “dip” lengthwise. This is where the “ants” will crawl. In that “dip” is where you will spread in the peanut butter. Clean up the sides with a knife, just skimming the sides of the celery. This prevents sticky fingers! Child doesn’t like peanut butter? You can use cream cheese as an alternative. Then on top of the peanut butter (or cream cheese), place raisins across the celery. I usually can get at least five raisins on top. This is how it looks like “ants” crawling across a “log.” Cute, right? As a mentioned above, this snack is a great alternative to a lot of the junk food out there. Celery is an awesome source of fiber and Vitamin C. It also contains potassium and Vitamin B. Peanut butter is also a great source of Vitamin B, and is packed with fiber, folate, and protein! As for raisins? They are awesome when it comes to helping strengthen your bones and eye health.
And speaking on ants…
Ant-Man Teaser Trailer
As I mentioned above, I’m super excited for Marvel to introduce Ant-Man to the film world of Marvel Universe! Luckily we have AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON (out May 1st) to hold us Marvel geeks over in the Spring until ANT-MAN hits theaters this summer. In the mean time though, be sure to check out the ANT-MAN teaser below…
Don’t forget to connect with ANT-MAN on Facebook and Twitter.
ANT-MAN opens in theaters everywhere on July 17th!
What kind of healthy snacks do you enjoy making for your child?
I was provided the trailer as a blogger for Walt Disney Publications. I did not receive financial compensation for my recipe post.

I keep hearing all of these great things about celery just lately. It’s making me want to go get some (I usually only get it for soups). This recipe is cute.

My kids love these. I grew up eating them. It is so funny the things that stick – and that you wouldn’t think would be good together but they are. Can’t wait to see AntMan!
