Okay, so we’ve been on a little bit of an anise kick lately. For some reason that little hint of licorice flavor reminds me of fall. So we figured why not make Anise Drops Cookies?
This recipe is a fairly simple one to follow. Easy is always a plus in my book! Why not decorate them for Halloween instead of the plain old boring sugar cookies?
1 1/2 cup of flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp anise extract
First step is to preheat oven to 350 degrees. See? Told you this would be easy! Then sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Just set it aside for now.
Mix the eggs in a bowl until fluffy. Then you will want to beat in sugar. Next just mix in anise and then the flour mixture you had sifted previously.
Place your mixture in a pastry bag (or really you can just scoop out of the bowl if you prefer). Then place ‘drops’ on non-stick baking sheet. Bake until cookies crack and are pale. This usually just takes 7 to 8 minutes. Enjoy!
