This was the beautiful scene I woke up to on January 1, 2012. Not my home (a relative’s), but where the little man I were staying to ring in the New Year. I was happy that 2012 was starting for me with such peacefulness and calm. 2011 was anything but that!
I was inching towards my 3rd trimester of pregnancy when 2011 began, and by April, I was thrown into the world of parenthood! I was scared, but excited to meet the little guy that had been growing in my belly for 8 plus months, as he arrived earlier than expected. I was very lucky in though that I had a relatively “easy” baby. He had a few reflux and dairy issues, but for the most part, I was able to keep him happy. By 10 weeks he was sleeping through the night, making this momma very happy!
In July, I decided to start a blog. Originally I was going to document mommyhood, though I slowly started to switch to product reviews. I previously dabbled in reviews via radio and television (nothing national, just local) and had been doing the BzzAgent program. Now that my blog focuses more on reviews and giveaways, I’m going to try to bring in the mommyhood adventures aspect to it. Though I think my blogging goals for 2012 is probably a whole other post!
Time flew by fast, very fast! Before I knew it, it was 12/31/2011 and we were waiting for 2012 to arrive. I have high hopes for this year. I previously discussed my resolutions for the year and my plan on focus on them. 2011 was an eye opening year. I learned that after years of relying on a man to always take care of me, I could be independent and take care of myself. While I unexpectedly became a mom (okay, maybe a mix of 2010 too), I learned that I did have maternal instincts. Years of traveling and partying are now behind me. This little guy was my main focus, and I would not have had it any other way. I just couldn’t wait to venture into 2012 with him and see what the year would bring us.
So goodbye 2011, and hello 2012! Okay, so maybe the traveling and partying aren’t really behind. Though that is what 2013 and on are for!
So what about you? Looking back at 2011, what was significant in your life?

SO CUTE!!! 2011 was hard on our family in a lot of ways, so I’m glad to see it go, although a ton of great stuff happened. I just hope 2012 rocks for everyone!
