Today’s Blog Dare is to discuss our favorite retro toy. As one who grew up in the 80s and 90s, there are so many toys that jumped to mind that I loved as a child. Then I remember, even though they are consider retro, many are making a comeback with today’s generation. If this toy isn’t popular among kids these days, well, it should be just because of its all around awesomeness.
In case you don’t recognize, that’s a Pound Puppy! I hands down absolutely loved Pound Puppies. I had all different ones of all different sizes and colors. Their floppy ears and droopy eyes always melt my heart. Now the one pictured above was my particular favorite. This isn’t a picture from my childhood, or a picture I scoured Google Images for. Nope, this is a picture I took just a few minutes ago. Now in my 20s, I’ve gotten rid of most of my childhood toys. When I found out I was expecting, I did a major clean out of my home. I found this little guy in a storage bin. I just couldn’t bare to part since I’ve convinced myself that my son would want to play with him. Okay, so my son probably won’t care at all for Pound Puppies, but this momma still wants to hold onto this favorite retro toy just maybe a bit longer. Who knows! I might have a niece who can appreciate these plush pups!
What about you? What’s your favorite retro toy?

I loved Jem and the Holograms! My sister had Barbie and the Rockers, but Jem was WAY cooler! :) I also loved Glamour Girls and Dazzle Dolls, remember those? Teensy weensie dolls you could put in the little carrying case and take with you!

I think Pound Puppies were a little after my childhood, but I do remember them. My favorite childhood toy? Well, I guess my little people with the town were my favorite. My parents actually kept it and my daughter plays with it when she is at their house.
