It’s finally here! Today I present to you the amazing lineup for films by Walt Disney Studios for 2017. We are HUGE fans of Disney films in this household. 2016 gave us a TON of great movies… but we absolutely can’t wait to see all the films on this year’s slate. The crews of Guardians, Pirates, Rebels, Cars and Asgardians all return to the big screen… as well as new faces and re-imagining of familiar faces… 2017 is going to be an awesome year for movies!
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (Walt Disney Studios)
March 17, 2017
#BeautyAndTheBeast
#BeOurGuest
Based on the 1991 animated film BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, Disney presents a new live action version for a whole new generation and beyond. The tale as old as time tells the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a Beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart of the true Prince within.
In honor of the film’s upcoming release, be sure to check out my easy recipe tutorial for “Grey Stuff” Eclairs!
I also have another recipe tutorial posted for a French Apple Tart! What better way to enjoy re-watching the animated classic in preparation for the live action version than with some sweet French cuisine!

BORN IN CHINA (Disneynature)
April 21, 2017
#BornInChina
Narrated by John Krasinski (“13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi,” NBC’s “The Office,” “Amazon’s “Jack Ryan”), Disneynature’s new True Life Adventure film BORN IN CHINA takes an epic journey into the wilds of China where few people have ever ventured. Krasinski guides you through the stories of three animal families. As with many Disneynature films, the audience is transported to some of the most extreme environments on Earth to witness some of the most intimate moments ever captured in a nature film. IN BORN IN CHINA, you will meet a doting panda bear mother, as she guides her growing baby who begins to explore and seek independence. The audience will also meet a two-year-old golden monkey who feels displaced by his new baby sister. He then joins up with a group of free-spirited outcasts. The third story revolves around a mother snow leopard—an elusive animal rarely caught on camera— as she faces the very real drama of raising her two cubs in one of the harshest and most unforgiving environments on the planet.
In anticipation of the film’s upcoming release, be sure to check out the BORN IN CHINA Educator’s Guide and Activity Packet!

#GotGVol2
Yes. Yes. Yes. Ever since I saw the first GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the sequel. Hands down, GUARDIANS is my absolute favorite Marvel movie. I can’t wait to see what adventures await the crew!
Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, VOL. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand.
In anticipation of the much-awaited release of VOL 2, check out my recipe tutorial for Galaxy Candy Bark!
It’s definitely a sweet treat that any GUARDIANS fan will be sure to love. My son won’t stop eating it!

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES (Walt Disney Studios)
May 26, 2017
#PiratesOfTheCaribbean
#APiratesDeathForMe
Johnny Depp returns to the big screen as the iconic, swashbuckling anti-hero Jack Sparrow in the all-new PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES. The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar, escape from the Devil’s Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea—notably Jack. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth, a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry, a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifully small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has ever faced.
My son is a huge fan of the previous films! In fact, PIRATES is actually based off his favorite right at Walt Disney World.
During our last trip to Disney I think I had “Pirates Life for Me” stuck in my head for well over a week! I know that PIRATES is definitely a film our family is excited to see.

CARS 3 (Disney / Pixar)
June 16, 2017
#Cars3
Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez (voice of Cristela Alonzo), with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!

#ThorRagnarok
GUARDIANS aren’t the only familiar Marvel faces returning to the big screen. THOR IS BACK! By the time this film hits theaters, it will have been 4 years since I walked the red carpet for THOR: THE DARK WORLD! In THOR: RAGNAROK, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger—the Incredible Hulk!

Despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez) dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (voice of Benjamin Bratt). Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector (voice of Gael García Bernal), and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history. Directed by Lee Unkrich (“Toy Story 3”), co-directed by Adrian Molina (story artist “Monsters University”) and produced by Darla K. Anderson (“Toy Story 3”), Disney•Pixar’s COCO opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22, 2017.
