Shopping for friends isn’t always the easiest of tasks. Everyone has different tastes in what they like and dislike. Sometimes it is similar to my own, and some of them are the complete opposite. One of my closest friends is a transplant from California. With her laid back and earthy style, I figured she would be easy to shop for this holiday season. That is until I discovered Bev’s Beadz… So what made this task suddenly so difficult? There were just too many amazing pieces of jewelry, how would I be able to pick and choose just one piece to give her?!?
Bev’s Beadz is described as a “past-life recreation in jewelry”, specializing in antique Trade beads. Beverly Moore, the artist behind Bev’s Beadz describes the process of designing, creating, and wearing her jewelry as her passion. Yes, all items are designed and handmade by Bev! Inspired by the Southwest, she is drawn to rich desert shades, colors, and materials such as Turquoise, Lapis, Coral, Jasper, Amber, metals, beads of wood, bone, and glass. Her pieces feature hand-sculpted beads and are rarely ever the same or symmetric. This makes them not only truly unique, but truly personal!
Jewelry for both men and women are available in her line. For the past two years, her line has been featured among the models of Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Edition. Aerosmith‘s Steven Tyler wore Bev’x Beadz while appearing on American Idol. Miami Shoot has also featured this one of a kind jewelry across their pages.
Beverly generously sent me the Ethiopian Cross necklace! I was immediately drawn to the uniqueness of the design and the warm colors. The necklace is perfect to go with my Autumn wardrobe as the color scheme fits perfectly. As you can see in the image of my necklace pictured to the right, the jewelry displays hues of orange, turquoise, plum, gold, brick red, navy, and more.
The necklace features a beautiful Ethiopian brass cross. The intricate design created an image of accent times in my mind. I found it to be quite a spiritual piece!
After examining the necklace closely, I’m in awe of the beads used! Bev used absolutely beautiful hand sculpted clay beads each with their own unique style and design. The clasp is easy to use. I did not have any issues when I was hooking and unhooking the clasp when taking the necklace on and off.
Overall I’m loving this necklace! I love the style, the individual beads, and most of all, that not a single person has the EXACT same necklace! You need to check out her line for necklaces, bracelets, earrings, anklets, and more! These items will make an awesome holiday gift for any jewelry fanatic.
