I swear these holiday sweets are calling my name. It is hard to put my sweet tooth in check and try to stick to a healthy diet and not have to deal with all the sugary treats and desserts I feel like I’m always on the search for cookies that aren’t overly packed with sugar, fats, and tons of calories. So you can probably imagine how thrilled I was to learn about Almondina, the delicious cookie without the guilt!
Created from a family recipe, Almondina offers all-natural, crispy almond cookies that has no cholesterol! Better yet, there is no additional fat, salt, or preservatives! Now you may be thinking that this make take out all the flavor from the cookie. Not the case with these cookies. Made in America, these thinly sliced treats are packed with crunch. The Original Recipe featured the deliciousness of almonds along with plump raisins!
Almondina generously sent me 2 packs of their Original recipe, and then a pack each of the Choconut, Chocolate Cherry, Sesame, Pumpkin Spice, Ginger Spice, and Cinnaroma! I couldn’t wait to share these with my family. Since we are all coffee drinkers, I knew we were going to have to try Almondina with our morning brew.
In honor of fall, we decided to test the Pumpkin Spice cookies first with our Pumpkin flavored coffee. You can see the almonds and slices of pumpkin seeds throughout the cookie. The pumpkin flavor is nice and not over-powering. The spice is a nice little kick and it was the perfect fall snack for the crisp Autumn morning.
Now I shared many of these flavors with my family over the Thanksgiving break. My parents especially enjoyed the Ginger Spice offering. These cookies not only featured almonds, but real chunks of ginger! If you are a fan of that zesty ginger taste, you’ll love the Ginger Spice. They are packed full of flavor and definitely have a little kick to them.
They also really enjoyed Cinnaroma! This cookie uses a combination of almonds, raisins, and cinnamon. I thought this flavoring was also perfect to much on with your morning coffee.
As for the Sesame, we actually spread a little bit of brie cheese on those and used them as appetizers before family dinner. Quite delicious! Not as sweet as the other cookies, but it went well with the cheese while I sipped on a glass of White Zinfandel.
As a chocolate fan, my favorites were the Choconut and Chocolate Cherry! At around 30 calories a cookie, these are definitely chocolate treats I don’t feel guilty about eating.
Almondina has recently added a new treat to their collection: Yogurt Dipped BranTreats®! They also offer the Original as chocolate dipped, and as Milk Chocolate Delights.
