Growing up, one of mine and my sister’s favorite imaginative play scenarios was “cooking” in our “kitchen”. We make believed baking cookies, making spaghetti, cooking eggs, and much more. When I saw the Expresso Baking Set and the Expresso Toaster Set from KidKraft, I was immediately taken back to my childhood of such fun culinary play!
Our goal is to inspire children with the power of their imagination through unique and creative heirloom-quality wooden toys and room furnishings. KidKraft is honored to be known as a leading creator, manufacturer and distributor of children’s furniture and toys. Established in 1968, KidKraft has been a proven pioneer in the industry for 40 years. We take this role of leadership seriously and have a great deal of appreciation for our wonderful customers who continue to select our fine products.
KidKraft generously sent me each set to test out and review. Both sets are made from high quality composite wooden materials. The wooden look gives the toys a nostalgic and classic feel to them! Your young budding chef will love toasting and buttering the bread or mixing and baking cookies.
The Expresso Toaster set includes a pop-up toaster, a stick of butter, two slices of pretend bread, a butter plate, and a butter knife. The Expresso Baking set includes a mixer, mixing bowl, rolling pin, cooking pan, two pretend chocolate chip cookies, and measuring spoon. I absolutely love that assembly is not required for either set! Don’t forget that both sets go perfect with the Uptown Expresso Kitchen.
Since my son is a little young for these toys, we took them over to my friend’s house to let her daughter test them out. They were a hit! While her mom watched the little man, her daughter and I got down to some baking and toasting! She enjoyed making the toast pop up and down with the Toaster set. The butter stick is several pieces held together by velcro so they can be pulled apart to make smaller slices of butter. While she thought the butter was a little too hard to “cut” with the butter knife , she certainly had fun putting the pieces back together into one big butter stick. She liked that the mixer lifts in and out of the mixing bowl, but wished there was a way to make mixer spin. Overall she loved the toys very much and had a lot of fun with them.
These products sat out on my dining room table while I was writing reviews. Friends, family, and holiday guests were in and out of my home constantly these past two weeks. Very often someone would comment on these toys. I heard everything from “beautiful” to “classic” to “Oh my daughter would love those!”. Every comment was a positive one!
Buy It: Both the Baking Set and Toaster Set are currently listed on Amazon for $23.00 each.
I received complimentary product(s) to facilitate this review from the sponsoring company. This is 100% my own honest opinion. No one has influenced me otherwise and I was in no way compensated financially. This review is solely based on my own experience with this product.
