Wordless Wednesday: A Look Back at My Favorite Trip to Disney World ~ #WW #DisneySMMoms

My family and I are HUGE Disney fans! In my lifetime, I’ve been so many times! Looking back, I think one of my most favorite trips is when my siblings and I went to Disney back in 2006. You see we hadn’t been there together since we were minors still all living under our parents’ roof. To the people who say the theme park is just for kids, boy are they wrong! We had such a blast! Though I’ve been there since then, this stands out as one of my favorite trips.

Need a Vacation? Think Colorado!

Need a vacation? Yeah, me too! Normally when I think of vacation, I think of a beach, drinks, the ocean, drinks, a spa, and well more drinks. Right now though, I want something different! I’ve been thinking about Colorado lately! For all you vacationers looking for an off-the-beaten-path Colorado getaway with all the frills of a major resort should head to Crested Butte, an historic town tucked away in the Colorado Rockies Elk Mountain Range.

Brush Up On Your #Spa Etiquette

spaWhether you are heading to the spa for your first time or you have many spa visits under your belt, a quick reminder about spa etiquette may be in order. Using your best manners when you visit day spas or vacation resorts can make the stay much more enjoyable for you, the staff members, and other guests of the spa. In order to be on your very best behavior, you may want to call your spa beforehand to find out if they have any spa specials or discounts.

Phone Ahead If You Have A Preference Concerning Therapists

Most spas are more than happy to provide you with your preferred therapist. However, during the busiest hours, it can be hard to match you up with your favorite therapist, especially if many guests prefer that therapist. If you have a favorite, or simply want to specify a male or female therapist, then call ahead to schedule your time.

Be On Time

Really there are very few appointments that this good behavior doesn’t apply to. You don’t want to spend your vacation days waiting because other guests were late and you don’t want to be the guest that causes other clients to wait. Arriving on time gives you and the spa employee plenty of time and creates a much more relaxing atmosphere.

Our Visit to Dutch Wonderland ~ A Kingdom for Kids ~ #DutchWonderland #Pennsylvania

As some of you know, I blog for the U.S. Family Guide. I was beyond thrilled when they offered my family complimentary passes to Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster, PA. Annapolis is only 2 hours from the park, so it was hard to say no! I actually had gown to Dutch Wonderland as a child myself, though I had no visited since I was maybe 5 years old. I remember it as an amusement park geared towards kids, so I was excited to take my son.

After scheduling conflicts, I finally was able to visit the park with my son and my parents last weekend. Pulling up, I could tell Dutch Wonderland did some awesome updates since I was there 20 years prior. When you walk over the draw bridge and through the castle gates, you find yourself in a “small village” setting where you can purchase tickets, visit Merlin’s Restaurant, head over to guest relations, or stop in the gift shop! Once in the park, the first ride we saw was the Wonderland Special train. I remember this ride from when I was a kid! Since the train was loading, we immediately hopped on.
