With the sun out and the summer heat pounding down, sunscreen is a must these days! However, it seems in many health reports, I’m finding more and more harmful chemicals in sunscreen. Luckily though, there are brands that are still natural and are not harmful to your children, you, or the environment. Ones of these brands is All Terrain! Their AquaSport SPF 30 was just rated the top sunscreenin the June 2012 Consumer Report Sunscreen report. How awesome is that? All Terrain generously sent me a bottle of their AquaSport SPF 30 to test out and review. This sunscreen is oxybenzone-free and includes a full-spectrum protection from UVA (skin cancer) and UVB (sunburn) rays. This is a definite plus in my book! I think UVA and UVB protection is important when researching sunscreen. The sunscreen is natural and fragrance-free. If you have allergies or scent sensitivities, this is a good sunscreen to check out.
The lotion is a thicker cream. It did take a bit to rub it into the skin more than your basic sunscreen. However, unlike other products on the market, this one is far from greasy! That is a major plus with me. The last thing I want is for my sunscreen to feel greasy.
I used the sunscreen on my son for our whole break up in Rhode Island. With visits to the beach, zoo, and many many walks along the Cliff Walk, sunscreen was needed! Luckily, no sunburn on his tender skin. While he did get some color, it was just a light tan and far from hurting him in any way. I also used AquaSport for the beach and no sunburn either!
AquaSport does live up to its name that it is water and sweat resistant. Even if you swim in the ocean for over an hour (80 minutes to be exact), AquaSport is still effective in protecting your skin.
