One of my favorite gifts to give is candles. My friends and family absolutely go crazy for scented candles! Even my home is filled with them. So whenever I learn about a new candle company, I’m all ears. Especially with Autumn fast arriving, I was definitely in the market to add some new scents and aroma to my home. When 3-8-1 Candles introduced themselves to me, I couldn’t wait to learn more. Not only do they offer hand pour candles in quite enticing and delicious scents, but in their 22 oz jar candles, there is a REAL piece of jewelry! Let’s just say this was one product I was super excited to try out and share with my readers.
So let’s chat about their name first. Where does 3-8-1 come from? 3 Words, 8 Letters, 1 Meaning… I Love You. The creator of 3-8-1 Candles definitely has a passion for her candle making! These aren’t mass produced candles with fake or costume jewelry. She hand mixes and pours each candle with care. I truly believe it is the QUALITY of 3-8-1 Candles that sets them above the rest of the other jewelry in candles products out there.
3-8-1 Candles generously sent me a 22 oz jar candle in the scent of my choice. Trust me, it was super hard to just choose one while browsing the scent list. I finally decided to try the Cranberry Marmalade. Other scents that caught my eye include Apple Harvest, Pumpkin Souffle, Spice Market, and Hot Chocolate!
When the candle arrived, I seriously could smell the cranberry aroma before I even finished opening the package. Boy was it delicious! I could definitely smell the tart cranberries, with a mix of orange, apples, and spice. Additionally, the candles were infused with natural essential oils such as clove, orange, and cinnamon. I was just loving the scent!
The candle arrived in a heavy glass jar of nice quality. The square shape definitely made this candle stand out from the rest of my candle collection. I love that they include a double wick and the touch of glitter on top was quite nice. Sure it was just a little dusting of sparkle, but what girl doesn’t love a little glitz?
The candles burn fairly clean as long as I trimmed the wicks. Honestly, even when I slacked on trimming and a “mushroom” top occurred on the wick, I still didn’t have any issues with black smoke. This was a major plus! I also loved that I didn’t have any issues with major tunneling nor the candle burning completely uneven. Overall I was very happy with the burning of my candle and the amazing scent it produced. I do wish the candle came with a quality lid to place on the candle during non-usage, but this wouldn’t be a deterrent in not purchasing from 3-8-1 Candles in the future!
I do have to say, that this candle is more for those who are patient! Okay, well patient or not, the surprise at the bottom is well worth the wait! Every day I burned my candle just waiting for the foil package to appear. Mine was all the way at the bottom. Honestly though, I can’t complain because I love the candle for its quality and amazing scent. The jewelry is just an awesome bonus!
So what was in my candle? Keep in mind that 3-8-1 Candles does NOT put fake jewelry in their candles. You may find earrings, a ring, bracelet, necklace, brooch, or anklet. Every piece of jewelry is crafted from titanium, tungsten, stainless steel, .925 sterling silver, 10k, 14k, or 24k gold. Retail values range from $39.99 to $1,000! How awesome is that? No need to worry about finding a $5 gumball ring in this candle. So what did I find?
Now 3-8-1 Candles recommends you take your piece of jewelry to a jeweler for appraisal. I have yet to do that, but I did send an image over to 3-8-1 Candles to show them what I found! The owner replied that the ring is a black and white CZ set in .925 sterling silver with a value of $99! I love this ring! The look goes perfect with my style. Plus it fits quite comfortable on my ring finger. So I’m guessing it is a size 5-6? According to their website, rings come in sizes 4 through 10.
3-8-1 Candles also generously sent me a shell tart to burn in my warmer. They sent me Backyard Campfire. I’m totally loving this scent for fall. Reminds me of the bonfires from my high school days. I think the tart is a great way to try scents to see if you like them or not before purchasing a large candle.
